★英語圏の文化を理解する大切さ(解説書)
英語の詩を朗読したり、ラップミュージックを聞くとよくわかるのですが、英語の文章は非常に音楽的なリズムをもっています。英語圏の人々は昔から、韻を踏んでRhymeを作っていくことをひとつの文化として持っており、それが現代まで脈々と受け継がれているのです。昔から親しまれているRhymeを使った言葉遊びの代表格が、イギリスの伝承童謡「マザー・グース」です。このマザーグースに出てくる詩はすべて、ラップミュージックと同じように、Rhymeをベースにしたものです。‥（解説書より一部抜粋。続きはBook Club で！）

★The Importance of Understanding the Culture of English-Speaking Countries (Excerpt)
If you recite an English text or listen to rap music, you will find that the English language is very rhythmic. English-speaking countries also have a custom of using rhyme to give the verse a beat or rhythm. This custom has been passed down through history to the present day. An example of word-play using rhyme in classic English nursery rhyme is “Mother Goose.” The poems that appear in Mother Goose are all written in rhyme, just the way rhyme is used in rap music today.
